After more than four years working in Malaysia from being a trainer in Penang to taking on a bigger role in Kuala Lumpur, I made one of the most important decisions of my career: to resign from my corporate job.

My journey allowed me to handle multiple programs supporting some of the world’s leading businesses across industries like search engine technology, web hosting, gaming, logistics, social media, cloud computing, and travel hospitality. I had the privilege of working with diverse cultures, strong leaders, and incredibly talented teams. The experience sharpened my skills in training delivery, program management, and cross-cultural collaboration.

It was a chapter filled with growth, challenges, and milestones. And while there was still so much more to learn, my long-term vision began to shift.

I realized I wanted a different kind of growth. One that allowed me to work from home, reduce expenses from rent, transportation, and daily costs, and most importantly, spend more time with family. I wanted location freedom. I wanted flexibility. I wanted the ability to build something on my own terms.

Transitioning toward remote work and embracing the possibility of being a digital nomad opened a new level of excitement for me. Travel no longer needed to wait for leave approvals. Work could happen anywhere. Life felt more aligned with my personal goals.

Resigning wasn’t about leaving something good behind. It was about stepping toward something better aligned with the future I want to build.

Growth sometimes means staying.
Other times, it means taking the leap.
